A quiet spell

I’m afraid it has been far too long since my last post. There are a few reasons for this. A working Mum, with an energetic toddler and an ongoing building project, finding the time has been a little tricky. Just washing the plates in our upstairs bathroom (no kitchen for 3 months now) is rather time-consuming in itself.

The lilac trees scented the garden beautifully while I was struggling to post.

But I have also been rather overwhelmed by the kind of fatigue that goes hand-in-hand with morning sickness and makes you head straight to bed as soon as everything’s done for the night. The good news is I’m feeling much better now; the building project is nearly done and we will have a kitchen again before our second child is born late this year.

Despite my neglect of this blog I have, however, tried to put what spare energy I had into the garden, since work done over these past few months is so necessary for the months ahead. So, despite my silence, I do have plenty of photographs and a few things I’d like to tell you about over my next few blogs. Gardening whilst pregnant isn’t always the easiest of things, but I plan to continue for as long as I can this year and will keep you posted on how it goes.
